Preparing a BOM for an accurate quotation

A well‑structured bill of materials is the fastest route to an accurate quotation. When every line carries the right information, our team can source and price the complete list in a single pass.

Include on every line

  • The full manufacturer part number, including packaging and temperature suffixes.
  • The manufacturer name.
  • The required quantity, and any forecast quantities.

Confirm whether you accept

  • Alternate manufacturers or equivalent parts.
  • Partial shipments, so that available items are dispatched first.

Specify for the order

  • Country of delivery and required date.
  • Quality and documentation requirements, such as certificates of conformity.

Detecting counterfeit electronic components

Counterfeit parts are most common when a component is scarce or discontinued. They range from relabelled lower‑grade parts to empty packages. These are the first checks our inspectors make.

Packaging and labels

  • Manufacturer labels match the part number, quantity, date code and lot code.
  • Reels, trays and moisture barrier bags are the manufacturer's standard type, with a humidity indicator card where required.

Markings

  • Logo, font and marking method match genuine samples and the datasheet.
  • No signs of sanding, blacktopping or remarking on the package surface.
  • Date codes are consistent across the lot and plausible for the part's production life.

Documents

  • A certificate of conformity and a clear chain of custody back to the manufacturer or an authorised distributor.

When a part fails any check, we quarantine it and tell you before anything ships.

Managing component obsolescence

Manufacturers announce the end of a product's life through a product discontinuance notice. From that point there is usually a limited window to place a last‑time buy before production ends.

When a discontinuance notice is issued

  • Forecast the units required for the remaining life of your product, including service spares.
  • Place the last‑time buy before the manufacturer's deadline, and store stock under controlled conditions.
  • Qualify a replacement in parallel, so continuity does not depend on stock alone.

What information is required for a quotation?

For components, manufacturer part numbers and quantities are sufficient. For solutions, include the site, the number of users or devices, and any applicable standards. Adding the country of delivery allows us to include logistics in the proposal.

Do you support low‑volume and prototype orders?

Yes. We quote prototype and sample quantities as well as production volumes. Where a supplier applies a minimum order quantity, we confirm it before you commit.

Can you source obsolete and allocated components?

We search authorised and qualified independent sources for end‑of‑life and allocated parts, and recommend pin‑compatible or functional alternatives where original stock is unavailable.

How do you mitigate counterfeit risk?

We prioritise authorised channels, record the source of every item, and inspect markings, date codes and packaging before dispatch. Traceability records are available with every order.

Do you work with banks and payment service providers?

Yes. We supply and integrate payment terminals, ATMs and banking infrastructure, and deliver digital payment and banking platforms, working with certified technology partners where a solution requires it. Licences and regulatory approvals remain with the financial institution, and we support you through the technical requirements.

Which countries do you ship to?

We ship internationally by air, ocean and express freight, subject to the export control regulations that apply to each item and destination. Share your destination and we will confirm.
